| I was skiing at the age of 24 - just got out of one band and was looking to get into another (had jammed with Eric Carmens nephew in fact and we were working at a 3 piece) I was coming out of the woods and flying - I was perpendicular to the hill I was coming onto and when I turned downhill, there was a buried tree. I hit it, flipped up into the air. To avoid braking my neck, I put my hand back and shattered my left wrist - to the tune of not only needing a cast for 6 weeks, but then needing external pins (cage). You know, like the halo on broken neck victims, I had one on my wrist. So that delayed my drumming for a few years. I'm happy to say that I have become a student of playing again. I have some mobility issues, but still play very well, infact, probably better because now I appreciate it more.
