yeah, and he seems to play anything equally well whether it's rock, funk, shuffle, salsa, samba, doesn't matter! He freakin' nails everything!

I use Evans Genera ST dry (or something) - its the ones with the tiny holes. My snare was the weak link on my kit, poped that baby on there and suddenly it is a whole new drum - I ain't ever going back

I use Aquarian Heads on (almost) everything...  One trick I learned years ago for a tight crisp snare is to use the thinest head you can find.  That to me is the Diplomat but they are so hard to find, next is the Ludwig thin snare head or the Aquarian snare side head. But if you play real hard you will blow them out and be replacing heads all the time...  Batter side for me varies on which snare I'm using.  I use the Studio-X with and without the powerdot , on newer, bigger, ringier drums.  The plain Texture Coated when I don't need any muffling.  I also use the vitage heads on some of my older snare drums..
