as you may recall i found a bunch of old demo tapes in the attic by bands id been involved with over the years. well ive picked a couple of my favourites and stuck them on a myspace site.

two are by my old band Stack recorded way back in the early 90's. the sound quality isnt great due to fact the cassettes were in my attic for over ten years but youll get the general idea. i seem to remember they were recorded on reel to reelCool Dude. the kit i used was an old premier royale with a premier beaded steel 6.5" snare. the cymbals sound real bad now, they were b8 pro's and a couple of 1970's Avedis.

the Jodie Jones track is more recent, played my BRX and K's and the snare is my old anton fig yammy with me working some brushes. the drum tracks sounded alot better prior to mixing but hey its her album she can make it sound however she wants.

so let me know what you think, im pretty bullet proof. id love for you to go visit my main home page (get to it from this 'demo page' friends section) and sign up...i could use some more friends on their!

Like the Jodie Jones one.

2 Qs: Is there a shaker in the background and did you have a click track?

The sound of the vocals on Jodie Jones is pretty unique and cool. Has a little bit of a 60s tone to my ear... Reminds me of some old doors stuff.Cool Dude

Sorry I'm late on this one...

Good job bro!

If I didn't know any better, I'd swear "Seize the Day" was recorded by some band in the 60's.

Jodie has a nice sweet voice. Very nice to listen to.

Good playing Rich.

you guys do care!GeekPleased

thanks for listening, Jodie has a great voice and there are some cracking songs on the album...shame none of the other track we did with drums made it onto the album

funny you should say that about seize the day, the organ sound was a fender rhodes. we wanted to mix that with a modern drum rhythm so i put together that press roll beat.... you tell i was listening to alot of portishead stuff at the time!

I also liked it very much... The first song does sound like a good 60's band recording.
