So, i'm thinking about taking the Saluda dive and trying some out. They have come a long way in 3 years. they used to have 1 series, now they have like 8. i just hate buying cymbals that i can't hear. They have some sound examples of their first series on the website, but none of the other ones. They are in SC so I may try to take a trip up there and check out their warehouse...

Joey - I hate to see a thread with no responses posted, but I've never heard of Saludas. - Al

I noticed when browsing through pictures on the pearl forum that quite a few people are using them over there.

I would recommend NOT using Saluda. I was endorsed through them for a short time... I got the set right before a big European tour, and by the 10th show, the RIDE had broken. I understand that I am a hard hitter, but that shouldnt happen. When I contacted them about it, they said when I got home to send it back... but by the end of the tour, everyone of the cymbals had broken. I had called them, and they said they wouldnt replace them, and it was my fault. They attacked my technique. I will never use them again!

Have you ever considered that it possibly was your technique. Or maybe even you choose the wrong selection of cymbals (thin cymbals in your case as your a hard hitter). It seems very unlikely that there was a fault with every single cymbal you took on tour.

saluda has there own forum, i can talk to him there....

i love sabians, but i can't afford them. i need too many cymbals. right now i have a good ride. thats it. I need hats, 3 crashes, and 2 splashes. I can get all that from saluda, custom made, working directly with the ceo, for 800 bucks.

sabians, would cost me 12-1500. i just dont have that with my son finally here!Pleased
