Not really - only problems I have ever had were due to me 'trying something new' .

I have a GRS curved frount bar, which I have set up in an arc - so the legs go at an angle. Try getting the geometry sorted on that! Never get guitarists and tape measures involved. Still havn't really got it to sit right, so may change back to a conventional arrangement (after I get some photos). It just looks too cool - I will sacrifice looks for playability

Will do - have to play around and make sure it is presentable. Have to get the polish out - leaving it up all the time means it gets dusty; feels wrong dusting a kit like a piece of furniture.

FYI -- The drummer for VAST (Jerry Rehn) was just with Morgan Rose last night after a Seven Dust concert...Morgan didn't mention anything about equipment breaking, but what he did say was that he received a "sh*tty" voicemail message from someone at Tama, and after that he was through...and he's loving his Pearls!

Stub, My pre 63 metric kit stays setup all the time too...  And I NEVER play it....   It just looks too cool...

As for Pearl Vs. Tama the previous posts were correct.  These guys are courted to become endorsers...  They go to who ever gives them the first deal (or the best deal).  My thought has always been decide what wood you want you kit made out of and then find the best looking one you can find in that wood.  If it's Mapex buy it, if it (god a can't belive I'm saying this) Peavey buy it.  It really is not about the manufacturer... You can always mismatch stands and even use a different snare. In some cases you may find if you buy a generic color you can find strange pieces and add them to the kit without anywork.

First what sounds good to YOU, Second what looks good to YOU, Third how much damn money do you have... And lastly Who's giving it to me....
