hi all,

new to this forum thing, so i will start from the top.

My name is paul, have played drums since i could pick up sticks (about 22 years) and have had the same kit since i was 15, which also belonged my grandad who bought the kit from new to play in the family band, who then passed it onto my dad who then passed it to me. neither dad or grandad now play drums due to medical reasons (niether can hold the sticks anymore).

i have a vintage Maxwin kit from the late 60s early 70s in white (well gigged lol) and it consitsts of;

a 22" Kick bass of which i was used the original 22" concert bass skin but i have recently retired that as it was sarting to look alittle tired , i now use a remo masters pinstripe.

2 snares one the original steel chrome maxwin snare with remo 14" ambassitor batter head and the other is a cheap boston wooden shell with a 14" Emperor X Snare Batter.

I have 5 toms, none of which have bottom skins 8",10",12",13" and 16" they all have remo spinstrips and i have sed gaffa tape to dampen down the skins. I do still have the original blue hydrolic skins which have been taken off as I was told you could not get them anymore which is a shame as they sounded great.

i have 3 cymbals one is a Zyn 18" crash/ride, i have a Pearl 16" crach and a sabian 20" ride. the hi-hats are Paiste 101. all hardware is vintage 70s pearl.

i have a tiger double bass pedal.

i am in the process of looking for 2 or 3 new splashs to add to the collection but havent found any that complement the sound of the rest of the kit.

i play in a cover band which ranges in styles from hard rock to country.

Welcome to our little part of the world. We consist of a group that ranges in age from mid-teens to early sixties.

We are all happy to help in any way.

I'm Mike from just outside of Washington Dc, USA.

As for the photos...

You can load your pictures onto a site called Photobucket.

From there you use the "direct link below each photo and copy it.

Then, paste it here.

Hi there Paul. Im Matt from Philadelphia PA. I've been playing for about 1.5 years now so I've got some to learn. Im 15 but have the maturity of a 6 yr oldDevilish

Anyway I own a shitty kit with nothing nice about them but the hardware. Oh and I like metal rock hardcore and some softer stuff like acoustic versions of metal songs

"I play in a cover band which ranges in styles from hard rock to country."

My brother and I have talked about doing a cover band in that direction.

We've done the classic rock stuff since it was new. lol.

We've thought that covering classic rock, blues and some newer country would be an interesting combination.

What are some of the country tunes you do?
