I've never worn them unless I was right in front of a speaker..  As a soundman they make it hard to get a balanced mix.  As a drummer I hate getting sweat all in them...  But I have also been very assholish with band members about stage volume.  If they are too loud I play lighter...  They eventually learn...

We do have a singer and hes younger than us and didnt know any of us but he came over and started belting. Hes got guts considering hes still in jr high and hes sitting in a basement with a bunch of highschool kids.

We have 2 tube amps and a 100 watt bass amp we use ear plugs but sometimes they forget their earplugs and they ask me for my earmuffs and i'm like "Screw you, if you dont wanna go def then bring your own or turn down your freakin amps"

Mostly we do covers but when we record we usually do a few of our own songs. We have a set list of covers like Bold as love- Hendrix, Karma police-radiohead, Just- Radiohead, The bends- Radiohead, Purple Haze- Hendrix, some Led Zepplin the list goes on....

i have some custom earplugs, but they dont work as well as i had hoped. The only ones i can stand in my ear for more than an hour, plus that work good, are called "spark plugs" and they are only sold through industrial supply companies. you should check them out. they are marbled flourescent colors. kind of cool!

I got a couple of sets of those from work as well - I just cant bring myself to wear them on stage...also - I find that the sweat forms under the join as it were and you have to dry them off.

Certainly more comfortable for longer periods. I may get a set with head phones built in so I can have a mix and click played back to me!

I take some of those small headphones that you put in your ear and place my isolation headphones over them when I practice with my CD player. It saves about 130 bucks!

just wanted to throw down on here that i'm on for another cool show this weekend with my band ..we're playing out in cleveland ohio this time ,

Tangerine  will be performing at The Hi Fi Club with 80's rockers Enuff Z'Nuff and The Billy Morris Band.

I'm also auditioning later this week for another pittsburgh based band that have played shows with the following artists :  Bon Jovi in '01 and  other  bands including the Goo Goo Dolls, Creed, Def Leppard, Poison, Ratt, Motley Crue, and the Scorpians at the Post-Gazette Pavillion in Pittsburgh.  They played again for Bon Jovi July 24, 2003 at the Post-Gazette Pavillion ... this is sure to be a fun project as well if i get the gig ..

wow the work is really starting to pile up now( I guess when it rains it pours )

just figured i'd share the latest gigs i got going on

keep rockin' guys and girls ,
