he is just really good on all his songs like one, fade to black, master of puppets, and sanitarium.
what about his other songs ? I agree that the song that you write are very good but i think that the drums is bad on alot of songs that are not in the "greastest hit of metallica"

im sorry im still thinking that lars is bad and i dont think that he merits all the attention that he has , and its the same for metallica

its actually 23.745638967 feet. I did a study on him with a micrometer, the guy is unreal! also, he doesn't just feed some needy people, he feeds ALL the needy people. which i think is wonderful, especially for those ethiopians!

Apparently in Lars' will he wants to be cremated and his ashes sprinked over the Sahara desert - it'll then turn into a new "garden of eden" and all the good drummers of the world will be able to live there in paradise for ever.  Apparently all the ego-maniacal lead guitarists have to go and live in Basingstoke.  Not sure that part of his will is legally enforceable though.  Bit of a shame for Basingstoke if it is.

Lars is an good drummer, maybe not great. Sometimes when bands play more complex music, like early Metallica, people think the musicians are better. Lars dosen't play anything that is really all that hard, but still complicated (composition wise) On the other hand, Motley Crues music is simple, but most drummers feel Tommy Lee is a better drummer. You want complex music and great chops...Neil Peart...RUSH.

well after reading your interesting posts i want to put in my two cents.  One thing is Lars is an awsome drummer and he will always be an awsome drummer.  The thing is because you say that he good yet bad doesnt make any sense.  If Lars hadnt been the drummer for metallica or metallica wouldnt have ever been a band the fact is that metal and rock music today would be greatly different.  Because you say he isnt a very good drummer is also insane because back when he started there were probably people out there that were like "O my god he is the greatest drummer in the world" but as time changes styles of drumming changes and peoples opinions change as well.  Just like every time i listen to music by metallica(anything before st anger) i get furious because i know that i will never be able to play like him.  With the double bass drum and the crazy tom fills its just insane.  But now i listen to Shinedown and new bands like that and am just amazed at how there drumming compliments their styles of music.  Every drummer and band has their own style of music and every part of the band compliments itself.

Thats just my opinion.

P.S.  Lars wasnt that big of a prick when it came to napster, i mean there are still programs like winmx and kazaa.  He didnt mind the downloading music he just didnt like that they were downloading it before it was released.  So anyone with a grudge against lars just because of napster should drop it.
