I remember how happy I was when I got my first kit!  I had an agreement with my folks that I would pay half.  My mom about died when I came up with the money and they had to make good on the deal.  It cost $140 but that was ages ago.  I even used that kit when I started gigging until I bought my Rogers kit new in 1976.

I was gonna buy my own kit didnt ask for one or anything and my parents surprised me with mine it was $120. arent parents great

try your local music shop, they will have a list of teachers in your area
