im a senior in high school and i play the snare. OUR DRUMS SOUND AWFULL. all of our drums r yamaha. whats a good way to tune the snare. my snare as a great tone but not enough "snare" i htink its the inside snare how would i adjust that to my likeings. my drum as 2 snares one on the inside right under the top head and one under the bottom head

I don't play marching snare so I don't really know how to tune them but if you take a look at this, http://www.evansdrumheads.com/

yea but i would have like to see him play it before and after. plus i think my top head is old and and tighten to the point where i can see the inside snare pushing up against it

good luck...high schools aren't known for getting new heads very often unless you have a band teacher who is on the ball.

kevlar marching snare heads are about 30 bucks each. If you have those on you snare right now, it has to be something else. they do not break or wear out. and typically they will outlast the drum.

i've never seen one with a snare right under the top head. I had yamahas in high school, but the weren't like that.
