| from interviews i think they dont want to make catchy music, as maynard put it, "were not a free toy with your happy meal band", he then went on to talk about "slipbizkit, or whatever that stuff is" which i found quite funny.
as for tools music, the early stuff aka undertow, opiate is dark, gritty and unpolished sounding in a very unique and good way. but my personal fav is lateralus, about the most perfect album ever ever, you couldnt improve it. its just perfect, and if you want to learn about how drums can be just as valid an instrument as any other its a damn good album to get into.

| danny carey is awsome, i love his simplistic visions on songs. like on lateralus that beat bout half way through. doin his thing on the hats then making that beat. its crazy. joey jordison is no match for danny only if your a double bass noob how likes it 24/7! | | Message posted 1765 days ago | IP Logged |
