wow, interesting stuff. I would buy the Turkish made cymbals any day. I'm just real down on China these days.

"Global economy" is another way of saying "lets fuck Americans out of their jobs by having Chinese factories produce the goods, or at least the raw materials, without regard to safety, or environmental protection, and then charge a lower price, yet still make whopping margins so that our executives can live lavishly, and the stupid American government loses the tax revenue generated by jobs that get shipped overFUCKINGseas...."

sorry, it's a very touchy subject for me

Lee,

We're 150% together on that sentiment. Question is what should be done about it and who would do it. I don;t see anyone.UpsetUpsetUpset

There is a large difference between free trade and fair trade. American companys that manufacture overseas should be taxed and tarriffed into oblivian when they bring their goods to market and try to pretend they are american made.
The company that angers me most in this area is Levi-Straus

I agree, Billy. FAIR trade is the only way to stop the hemorrhaging. We need politicians that actually look out for the common folks, and that have the guts to pass serious trade policy reform. I'm generally not in favor of heavy government regulation, but in this case it seems necessary to protect our very economy. The government's prime responsibility is to protect it's people. That should go beyond just safety in this case.

I say tariff the shit out of imports. We used to have protective tariffs in place that protected domestic industry. But since "free trade" became the popular thing, we've been going downhill ever since. Angry

Ross Perot was right.
