How about for now, people just put a link to their auctions on eBay in the classifieds section. It would actually be pretty cool in the future to have an auction section, with a lot more users, so you should start coding it now, and when there's many more users, release it. That's what I would do anyway.

Yup you are allowed to point to ebay in the classifieds thats cool.  And yes, ill work on an auction system when there are more users!  To stop people posting fake ones etc etc i could make it 50 drum points cost per item etc etc

I wouldn't recommend an auction section, firstly you'd need secure servers etc. and then there are legal issues... how do you enforce that once someone has paid, the item is sent to them?  Or that once the item is sent to them, they pay?

1) You dont need secure servers
2) All at buyers/sellers risk

There wont be any online credit card transactions taking place
