I don't know if it was the best, but I was a teenager in the 70's and grew up with it. My musical taste runs from the 50s to today though.

i grew up in the 90s, but the 80s was just quality. still the 90s is a close second, every time i hear a chart song i thought was crap from the 90's its a treat compared with todays low low standards. got only knows what horrors lay ahead in the next decade Sick

I think there is great music in every decade.

I've always believed that people's music tastes were somewhat cyclical. I remember being in the 7th grade (about 8 or 8 years ago) and the cool bands to listen to were Zep and Pink Floyd. It was also the material that local cover bands were playing.

Now it's a decade later, and there is A LOT more music being played and listened to from the 80s. I can remember people telling me that 'all music from the 80s sucks' but I listened anyway, cause I had listened to classic rock long before it was cool with my friends.

I find about 25-30 years old is the right age for music to be temporarily cool again. This is also reflected in new music. I'm seeing a lot more synthesizers, crazy high backup vox, and compressed guitars through the club than even a few years ago.

I love the 70s the 80s turned to commercial if that makes sense.
