I can't exactly recall when the XS20 series was first released - perhaps around 2003?? I had a bit of a play of them and thought they were good value for the money and filled the gap between the B8 and AA series cymbals, though they didn't quite make the grade and weren't quite there soundwise for a B20 grade cymbal.
I noticed a little while ago they re-released the series in brilliant finish and thought they looked good and that was that.

Anyway, I had a bit of a play with them yesterday and was amazed at the difference the finish has made to these cymbals. I played the 18" Medium Thin Crash next to an AA 18" Medium Thin Crash and there was only a slight difference. The 20" Medium Ride also had a good wash/crash ability to it too. They are probably a little too bright for jazz type sounds but good rock cymbals

If you have the chance when in the store just give them a go and see what you think about them (I know not all of you play Sabians) taking into account the price. I would certainly use the 18" crash.

I've always had the belief that the dearest isn't always the best, I think these prove that theory.

I've played them and I think that they do a good job of bridging the gzp between entry level and pro cymbals. I'd buy used Zildjian "A"s or Sabian "AA"s before I'd but these new though.
