Im wondering what company heads you use specifically for your toms. Please specify the type i.e. remo ambassador coated.....

Myself? I like aquarian super kick 2 and aquarian performance II.... I find aquarian heads are more of the boomy type heads. I really hate dry sounding tomsRaspery

I have different setups on different kits.

The Vintage Gretsch and Leedy kits are both wearing Remo coated Ambassadors over clear Ambassadors as I think it is THE right sound for those kits.

My 70s Slingerlands currently have clear Pinstripes over clear Ambassadors for that "70s" studio sound. It's not for everybody, but I like it on these drums.

The DWs have DW heads made by Remo.

My Gretsch Catalina Birch kitis fited with Evans clear G1s top and bottom. I experimented with Ambassadors on this kit, and didn't care for that combination. I like the sound of Evans heads on birch kits I guess.

I tried an Aquarian snare batter about 10 years ago after a brand new Remo lasted one gig.
I never used anything else since.

I have a Texture coated with under-side power dot on the snare, Response 2 clears on the tom batters with Classic Clear resos. Kick drum is a Suerkick 2

The Superkick bass heads are great. It surprises me that none of the other drum head manufacturers have yet to come out with anything nearly as good.

Same. All mixed up. I'm mostly on Evans now for kits, but still have Remo on orchestral drums. And Aquarian on one kick drum.

So I guess you could say I'm an Evans man, but I've been falling in love with clear Emperors lately.
