| I played a vintage one as well. Aside from the tone and quality of the shell, shich by now is a matter of legend, the original rims are something to experience. A rim click could fill the room. Rim shots were awesome. The rims were not flanged, so there is a price in chewed up drum sticks.

| Could very well be, I only played one and it didn't have flanged hoops. I'm not sure that the later ones were solid shells either.

| That sort of confirms my thought that the earlier ones were the prizes. I don't know much more about them.
I'm kind of curious about other peoples opinion of Noble and Cooley snares. Haven't used any recently, but some years ago I got to use a 14X4 solid maple on a number of occassions. It really knocked me out, and I haven't played a solid since that effected me the same way. I haven't seen any around lately, nor have I heard much spoken about them. Has anyone else played one? Recently? Any thoughts on it?
