It's 2:30 and I just got home!

My band Funk in the Oven just won the battle of the bands for the whole university.

So we won some money, only $1000 but whatever. As far as I know we are soon off to Toronto for the national competition.

I didn't even expect to win the first round, let alone go to the national competition.

That's great Duncan! (I knew you'd win.)

Actually this band is sort of a joke. We started it six days before the first round just to enter for fun.

Somehow we ended up winning. I started writing songs around the things the judges wrote that they liked about the other bands.

The band isn't even very good. We just use lots of cheesy crowd-pleasers. It's working so far and it's made me some prize money though, so no complaints I guess.

Yes, hopefully!

Next week is my reading week off school so I will maybe try to order the lugs and get working on the drilling of the shell!

Although I have another itch. The house kit last night was a little 10/14/20 Maple Custom Absolute kit.

I've always wanted some of those... might have to part with my big Gretsch kit, since I haven't played them in about a year.
