I just pulled out Toto IV this morning and put it on while I was around the house cleaning.

I've listened to it four times beginning to end today.

I forgot how fantastic an album this is! It's one of those records that you can't name songs from (except probably Rosanna), but you listen to it and know every song. I Won't Hold You Back is pretty much quintessential 80s rock ballad in my opinion.

And as always Jeff Porcaro is unbelievable.

He makes his stuff seem sooooooooooo simple, which it is not.

I've been working on the purdie shuffle groove from Rosanna for literally weeks. Technically it's certainly not easy, but not particularly difficult either. But to nail the feel at that speed is, well, really hard.

It is so incredibly smooth, and he throws in subtle accents. I could listen to it again and again.

Yep, I watched that one to help me nail it down.

I'm trying to learn the beat from Rosanna at the moment. I know what is being played, I just have to keep practising it until the muscle memory kicks in. Pleased
