Found this one in a local shop today. Price was low enough for me to take a flyer. Four bolts later...I think I'll keep it. Pleased

I made this sound file after the third bolt had been installed; the buzzing you can hear was remedied by the fourth. I certainly won't be going all "Keith Moon" on this cymbal, but this will be perfect for all the jazz piano trio gigs I'm not getting called for. Argh!Err...

I've never tried and experiment like that, it sounds pretty good though.

Sound file after adding the fourth bolt:

BTW, the cymbal weighs in just around 2090g-2100g - pretty light for a 22".

I think it sounds pretty good. How did you bolt it? What did you use?

Good work! I hope it holds up with use. As you said, with jazz, it may well.

Brant, it's just screws, nuts and washers - I just want to keep the metal on either side of the crack from vibrating in such a way as to grow the crack. Here's a photo from the other side, before I put in the fourth bolt:

Yeah...this one's a keeper. I finally got the chance to give it a serious test drive today - I brought it to the school where I teach, and put it up on the kit after my last student left.

Now I "get" what guys are talking about when they sing the praises of these 1950s Zildjians...and hell, this one's BROKEN - I can only imagine how it sounded before it got damaged. Pleased
