| construction companys etc. should get tax breaks for establishing apprentice type programs to teach skills to young people. I know a skilled mason who gave it up because He couldn't find dedicated help but that was before the influx of hispanics to this area. Billy Member since Feb. 15 2008

| This is another example of where the current frenzy to cut government "spending" is pure nonsense. Instead of slashing our investment in job training programs, job training should be raised to a priority level similar to the race to put a man on the moon in the 1960's. And match that with strong support for things like day care programs, so that people can take advantage of the training programs. Indiscriminately labeling anything government does as (wasteful) "spending" is stupid and short-sighted, not to mention un-American. Our people are our most precious resource Al in Illinois - Member since February 4, 2007.
I just love to beat on stuff with sticks!
