OK who is playing a gig on New years Eve.

My band is playing the same place we have for the last 2 years. The pay is OK.. (about 50% more than we usually make for a one nighter) and it is fairly close to home.. so that is good. Hopefully the weather will be good (no snow storms).

I'm not playing but I though I would tell you that my cousins boyfriend - who plays the bag pipes - gets paid £300 for playing a couple of Scottish songs on the bagpipes (about 10mins worth).

Not bad! Pleased

If we're lucky, and put in a good day on my guitarist's house projects, we might have the time and energy to have a rare JAM!!! WHOOPEE!

I was supposed to be working at the Hard Rock cafe in Toronto for a big New Years party, but it got cancelled last week. What a bummer, that would have been such a cool place to play. Who knows if I'll ever have the chance again.

It is just another gig for me... altough it does pay a bit better.. and the crowd tends to get a bit more drunk.

Last year we had 6" of snow on New year Eve which hurt the crowd a bit...

Well if the pattern keeps up, we'll likely get some crazy snowstorm. We've had crazy weather here and I know you have had nasty weather this winter too Ron.

We have not gotten the "BIG ONE" yet this year.. .but lots of 1-5" types. Just enough to really screw up traffic. Right now we have about 18" of snow on the ground.

We had about 3 feet just a few days before Christmas, but then it got hot (2 degrees, but it sure felt hot!) and it rained and all melted. Then we had a blizzard and we got another foot overnight.

It's been a wild winter thus far!
