I saw the Decemberists last night in Atlanta at the Cobb Energy Event Center. The venue is fabulous used mainly by the Atlanta symphony, the sound is better than excellent. The show was opened by Justin Townes Earl who has become an excellent singer-songwriter in His own right.
The Decemberists put on a great show assisted by Sara Watkins (Nickle Creek) on violin. John Moen proved the point so often made on this forum, that all You really need is a four piece kit.Mr. Moen is a first class drummer,He embraces a lot of rudimental licks in His performance that accents the music perfectly. He played what looked to be a Gold glitter kit of some kind(no badges were visible). If You get the opportunity check this band out.
