That's a lot Luke, but how does it compare with the DW 9500 piecewise. I've played them side by side and couldn't give one an edge playing wise. i will say that the 2 legged Tama seemed to be a little more 'stable' then the DW. However, this is a distant memory based on a test about 5 years ago.

I wound up with the DW anyway, so who said I was logical.

The DW isn't easy get set up stable at first, but once you get it adjusted it it's very stable in my opinion. I really like the velcro bottoms as well.

Pricewise they are about the same though I've not tried the DW one. DW are only sold through one distributor here and the stores are difficult for me to get to.

I think I paid $269 for each of my DW 9500s and that seemed like a lot of money.

Here the DW is a few bucks more than the Tama about $300 to $320 for the DW. I like the tilt option on the Tama and I don't like the velcro on the DW, makes it hard to make smaller ajustments on placement on carpets, you need to pick the whole stand up and move it. On the Tama you just put out the spikes and tilt it a little and it ain't going no where.

...that's a valid point, and while the DW is sturdy the Tama still seemed sturdier. With that said, I'm not I'm not having a problem with the DW.

So my point is how good the Tama is, not to say the DW has problems.
