Pittsburgh WAS the steel capitol of the world. (Not anymore.)

I thought Llanelli was the steel capitol of the world... or was.

Most of the worlds great steelworks and towns were started by the south Welsh, who were shipped around the world for their knowledge.

At one point haalf of the steel production in the United States came from here. And yes, it was create by Welshmen. (Mainly from the town of Merthyr.)

Although there are still some mills in the US, there is not one particular area in which steel production is concentrated now.
