On my Supra I use a coated ambassador top and a flat, no collar ambassador on the bottom.

It's just that Gene a head with no bend to fit on the edge, it's call collarless and they're for guys who like to really tighten down the snare head, it's all I used before going with Evans. They tune up really quick and go on tight, I think they last longer too. Look at your snare head, are the tension rods almost bottomed out? This doesn't happen with collarless heads. I'm thinking about going back to using these they work so good.

Check the remo site and try them the work much better then heads with a collar.

All I could find was this but I know they have to be somewhere, for marching snares, they call these "low collar"

I've heard of it...

I believe Dunnett used it on his titanium drums at one point.

The part number is SA-0314-TD. In the description they call it collarless.

The collarless reso head really forms to the shape of the bearing edge and does tune up easily. I'm not one that really cranks on the head but I like that it tunes easy.
