Hi All, can anyone tell me if Stewart or Continental was a sub-company of another brand? My Dad and I have recently purchased some old stuff and cannot find any info on either name. Thanx for the help!

I don't know anything about Continental, but Stewart Drums were fairly decent "cheap" drums made in Japan (I believe). Obviously the company didn't exist for long. I don't believe they were a "sub-company" because back in those days most drum companies were independent. But I did read somewhere that they were manufactured by Pearl (not necessarily owned by Pearl).

I've seen a set of Stewart drums before. For "cheap" drums, I was impressed at how well they were made. Way better than the entry level kits made today.

Yeah I have a Stewart kit here at the school. (Blue sparkle!) They look and sound great for their age and price.

Speaking of Rich, He's been a bit quiet of late. I hope all is well.
