What do you guys recommend for sound proofing, or at least lessening ? I've got neighbors on both sides of me and would like to quiet the exposure to the outside of the drums so I don't have the Sheriff's knocking at my door.

Currently I'm thinking those heavy moving blankets strung along the walls and windows. Those professional egg crate looking things are too much $$ for me considering the room size (14 x 14).

Any help here would be of great help.

Thanks

You may be able to find carpet remnants from a carpet dealer and/or new construction site for very cheap, and maybe free. Get all you can and carpet the crap out of everything, floor, walls, windows. That's about the best you'll be able to do, unless you can afford to pay a construction crew to come in and build a soundproof room with double walls and everything. That would cost you thousands of $.

ive got some heavy moving blankets strung up for now until i can put in a new soundproof wall/door.
They do a lot more than youd think.
Id try that out if i were you.

the cheapest solution of course, buy your neighbors some of those foam earplugs!

Yeah, it sure seemed to me that the moving blankets would do a considerable job at deafening the sound, those blankets are pretty thick and heavy ! Now, I just need to find a moving truck that has too many blankets in it. Wink

Lifting the bass drum off the floor helps stopping the bass going through floors and walls.  Hanging blankets off the wall seriously helps as well.

just rent a big truck and move your neighbors house another 200 yards away!

they will never complain again

1) Find a moving truck with too many blankets in it....Wink

2) Buy old ones from Bekins or some other moving outfit...

That's all I've got, other than these, I have no idea. But, one would think that these would be perfect for deafening the room.
