| quickly, Steve.........we went into vietnam (at least the worst latter part of it) under Johnson, a democrat. We got out under Nixon, a republican......by the way, I'm not republican, i'm a registered independent, have been for years, always will be. I'll never toe ANY party line, because I like using my brain and being rational. I'd like to see you or anyone prove anything that Moore accuses Bush of. Like I said, the 9/11 commission made the Moore movie bogus.
Menolaus......nice ass!!! (not you, the chick!) That could get me addicted to crack. SBL138182.8303819444 Lee

| No matter where you stand on the war, it's important to remember that our government hoisted Hussein into power in order to help us "combat communism", which was the menace of the day at the time. The CIA used to call it "our favorite coup". And he did just that, he took pleasure in torturing and imprisoning dissidents, communists, banning organized labor, assasinations, all the bad stuff that it took to keep HIS order in order.
And it tickled Washington pretty to know that he was brutally repressing communism, he even started a long and pointless war in Iran trying to knock out the communist dictatorship there as well...which had recently sent the American oil companies packing after they nationalized the industry. We even gave him so much money, training and weaponry that he came out of that war as having the fourth largest army in the world. While he was gassing his own people, the day it happened, photos were taken of him and Donald Rumsfeld together in Iraq. Rumsfeld could have made a good stand right then and there but Washington chose not to. When the story broke, Washington went out of its way trying to convince the American public that it was Iran who gassed the Kurds during a battle, because Iraq was our ally. The truth is that both armies gassed that town in that battle, that city was the subject of major dispute and frequent deadly battle scenes due to it's enormous economic potential.
Just dropping some knowledge, objective knowledge, to help anyone who's still trying to get a fix on the whole mess "over there". | | Message posted 2868 days ago | IP Logged |
