| Im about to buy a jazz drum kit from drum world uk and i was wondering what you think about and if there are any other good jazz kits about £500-£600.

| | Hmmmm, I guess I have to learn the difference between a Jazz set and other sets. Can't you play all types of music on all types of sets ? Wouldn't it be dependant on the heads and tuning ?

| what i was trying to get at is that if he was just playing jazz on the kit then maybe spending the majority the money (ie £300) on a decent snare (with a wide tuning range and response) and the rest on the bass and maybe one tom might be a good way to make his money sound good. instead of spending it getting toms he wont use, double braced hardware he dosnt need and a steel snare drum that will sound sh*t

| | Ahhhh. I never played Jazz, so someone else will have to help you there. Although, your description sounds about right as I remember Buddy Rich's jazz set.
