Anyone tried the new Paragon Peart series from Sabian??  I am outfitting a new kit with all new cymbals.  I tinkered with the ride at a local store and I like the bell - very responsive - almost like the Ping Ride from Z.  I am an old Z man and would like to change to Sabian - any pros/cons and does anyone have any feedback on the Paragon stuff??

Thanks

Ras

Sabian is a great company and has a great product line. You may already know, but the owner of the Sabian company is Robert Zildjian, who named the company after his 3 kids, Sally, Billy, and Andy (1st two letters of each). The Sabian cast cymbal line is made with the same "secret family recipe" as Zildjians themselves.

Nope, all true. Robert Zildjian is Armand Zildjian's brother. Both inherited the Zildjian Company, but vehemently disagreed on how to run the company, so Robert left, and started Sabian under legal order not to use the Zildjian name in connection with any kind of promotion for Sabian. All this happened back in the '80's.

One would wonder then what will happen when Robert passes and the three kids take over....hhhmmmmmmm

Should be interesting, those brothers could not get along, who's to say the three kids will. Maybe a couple more great cymbal companies will come out of it.
