I have one stamped 'Made In Canada'

I'll post a pic

Unless its a 'K' though I though they had a different stamp on the old K's

I'll have to look into it

Cool something to research on drums

and just for the sake of another addendum

Devilish

Pleased

seems there are plenty of people with 'Made In Canada' that they at least believe to be A Zildjians

Mine is identical to the 'Thin Stamp 1970s' though mine says Made in Canada

Okay, this may have been so they could be exported to U.K. why they first started the Canada factory in the first place. Zildjian didn't have the hammering machines in Canada they just sent A's there stamped them sent them out, it was to get away with not paying the high import tax.

When Zildjian broke up the Canada factory had to send the K hammering machine back to the U.S and the U.S. factory had to send them some A hammer machines.

So they weren't really Made in Canada

Pleased

Here's the cymbals that came in that bag. My dad gave them to me in 1974. They are K's but small cracks in the bottom cymbal made them unsellable, the still sound great. It has the A Zildjian Made in U.S.A. mark.

The Zildjian history says the Canadian plant was to finish the cymbals that were still being produced in Turkey.

It must have been to export to the rest of the world, not just the UK if they are examples here in Oz.

The history timeline on the Zildjian site mentions absolutely nothing about Robert or Sabian or anything about Canada LOL he's obviously still not over itDevilish

Luke they had to say that, or what they were doing would be illegal. They just stamped them and sent them out. In the 60's they may have started working on the cymbals made in Turkey but by the 70's they were making K's there, when Zildjian broke up Bob brought the last Zildjian that worked in Turkey to show them how to hand hammer, he had to do this because the U.S Zildjian took back the hand hammering machine that they used in Canada. So you could say the early Sabians were made but the same guy that made them in Turkey. True K's

It seems quite an interesting company history Phil.
I always thought of my 'Made In Canada' as a half-Sabian - guess I can't anymoreUpset

I have a 15" AAX Studio crash.

I know a ton of us have 14" New Beats

A few have Sweet Rides

I'm guessing that I own some of the same cymbals as most of you.

Err...
