Ron and Mike, I also use 15" AAX Studio Crash as well as a 16" in the same.
Whilst I love the 15", I not as fussed with the 16", it just doesn't quite have enough body. I think I will move it along on Ebay at some point. I want to replace it with possibly a 18" AA Medium-Thin crash.

I'm really not a fan of the AAX hats at all.

It really sux (for me) how cheaply you can buy cymbals MikeyDevilish

Maybe it's just not the right 16"AAX Studio Crash for you Luke, I mean they all sound a little different. Is it new? brilliant cymbals do need some breaking in you know, and I can see a 15" having more body than a 16" so it could be just that cymbal. Be careful mixing AA with AAX, AA are a lot brighter so if your looking to match these cymbals it may or may not work out for you. You could try a 16" AAX Dark Crash or new 16 or 17" AAX Studio Crash.

The 18" AA Medium Thin Crash Crash may also sound brighter than your 15"AAX do to the heavier weight and will be louder too. I like to match cymbals like say 18" and go thin, medium thin, medium, kind of like that. Or 16" 17" 18" or have a 2 inch difference in between to get bigger pitch differences.

My philosophy on cymbal setups is similar Phil.

On my signatures I use a mix of full and fast crashes.

18" full crash

18" fast crash

17" fast crash

16" full crash

15" fast crash

This is one setup.

I do similar setups with my other cymbals.

Luke, I wasn't hugely impressed with most of the AAX hats. The 13" Fusion are a really different flavor.

And I think it's great that I can buy cymbals this cheap.Devilish

I use the two AAX Studio Crashs at the moment with an early 16" Medium so the 16" Studio naturally sounds 'bodyless' against the other 16". I just think I need a full sounding 18" to complement the set-up.
I also have a 12" B8 Pro splash which I love for those appropiate spots

That sounds like a good mix Luke. The AAX 18" dark crash might be a good fit for you as well.

I just added a 15" AAXtreme Chinese for $78.00 with shipping...

This is all your fault Phil.

That's a nice size. Very tight sounding.

Good price too.

The 18" AAXplosion crash just showed up. It's perfect. The guy included the reciept from when he bought it. He paid $287 including tax on 2/13/2010. He sold it for $162 including shipping.

I did okay.
