Hi,
I am Lisa and I live in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area. I play in a trio that does oldies/variety type stuff and a surf music band.
I just invested in a Pacific MX series set -5 pc and some new Sabian cymbals. I'd been playing a set of Remo drums for like 20 years, so this is a step up for me. HA!
I have been playing for about 30 years in various style groups - mostly classic rock and oldies. I am enjoying the surf stuff a lot(think Ventures, Aqua Velvets, etc.)
I am a good drummer but don't claim to be all that and a bag of chips. :) I am just me...and people seem to think I do all right and enjoy it, so I am happy.
One of these days I want to learn to play some jazz.
I look forward to "meeting" some other drummers here and sharing ideas.
Quick story- how I started playing.....when I was about6 years old the guy next door had a band. They rehearsed in his basement (I lived in Ohio at that time) and I would sit outside and watch throught the window. The window was right over my neighbor's shoulder. I think I fell in love with drumming while watching him play. I doubt that guy ever knew what an influence he was to the little girl next door! His name was Sonny Weston, if anyone out there knows of him.
Anyhow -howdy! I am glkad to be here.
