I setup the Sabian AAX 18" china and 10" splash tonight.

Nice stuff, and so I think I'll be picking up some crashes.

This should make Phil smile.

I have 2 AAX crashs which I like, I'm really not a fan of the rest of the AAX range especially the hats.
I love the Evolution HHX range and some of the HH rides are smokin'Cool Dude

I've tried a few of the AAX crashes and liked them a lot. I'm looking to try out the 21" AAX Memphis ride and AAX 13" Fusion hi-hats which is an AAX top paired up with a HHX heavy vented bottom.

As I experiment with SABIANS I'm going try to avoid duplicating cymbals that I own in Zildjian lines. I want to see what I can find that I like that is different.

I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Sabians don't sound like Zildjians and don't play like them either.

Some must have from Sabian are, 21" HH,or HHX Raw Bell Dry Ride,HHX X-TREME Crash 18, 19, or 20" HHX, or AAX O-Zone Crash 18 or 20" AAX Studio Crash, AAX Dark Crash, from 16" up, the 20" Dark is the shit man, 21" HH Vintage Ride, 20" HH Jazz Ride, HHX, HH, China any size. I could go on or you could get any, they're all good. Tell me what sound you want?Cool Dude

"Sabians don't sound like Zildjians and don't play like them either."

True enough.

If I may paint with a broad brush, they are a lot more like my Zildjians than they are like my Paistes.

I'm just saying that I want there to be quite a difference. Since I already own plenty of Zildjian "A"s and "K"s, I probably don't want "AA"s or "HH"s as the lines are somewhat similar. (Notice that I said somewhat.)

I think a mix of "HHX"s and "AAX"S is the direction I want to go.

Phil, you are the SABIAN guru on here in my opinion. I'll check out the models you suggested. I'll do this over time as I did with the other with the other cymbals.

I have a starting point.

By the way, the Sabians do fit well with the 2002s.

Yes AA's may be close but the HH is a whole new world my man, rides and hats more so.

I don't think HHX and AAX would mix well except for maybe HHX ride and hats with AAX crashes. The AAX rides and hats are not for me, except the 13,14," AAX Fusion Hats and I haven't tried the Raw Bell AAX so.

And yes I do agree with you that Sabians will sound closer to Zildjians than Paiste well maybe except for the new APX they sound a little "Paiste"Devilish

Phil, tell your Sabian rep that you are helping to sell cymbals in the US.
