I have my own apartment which happens to have 2 bedrooms. I sleep in one, the other is the drum room. I practice as much as I can. Mainly using books (Cross Sticking Studies, Rhythmic Illusions, Drumset Control, etc.) and using the method that Terry Bozzio used to use. Just play til you find something you have trouble with, then work on it until your totally comfortable with it.

I also picked up a pair of Vic Firth headphones, they block out 24 DB of ambient noise. So that makes playing along to CD's a lot easier on the ears.

I have a soundproofed practise room that I teach in, as well as practise and rehearse. I spend about 3 hours a day teaching, and I try to do 3 hours practise as well. I also go to college so sometimes it's difficult to do that much, as well as having gig's and things. when I practise I normally spend about an hour on rudiments and patterns with a metronome, an hour playing along to an album, and another hour learning new songs.

Cool you teach!  Do you enjoy it?  You must be damn good if you do that much practise!  Let me know if you do a London gig

I usually get in 1-2 hours a day. i'm fortunate in that i still live with my parents in a the suburb, so the neibours aren't bothered too much. i would like to move out in the near future though, so any suggestions of a cheap drum frindly environment would b appreciated.
