| I'm a right hander, with a right hand setup. I play closed typically, with my ride on the right.
I'd love to learn open with my lefty slamming the hats to free up my right, there's so many patterns you can go for like that. I will learn eventually.... but until then:
mere days ago I threw an old pair of closed hats on my right beside the ride so I could open my left hand to tom and cymbal work.
so far so good, but it's no substitute for developing my left hand and playing traditionally open. I will fix that, one of these days. | | Message posted 2816 days ago | IP Logged |

| I'm right handed and play closed mostly - but I'm learning open handed as my son is a lefty playing a right handed kit - so open handed is easier for him. I llike playing open but am not as good as crossed yet. Anyone who'd right handed and playes crossed should practice open handed -it'll help develop your left hand a lot.
