James,

Didn't mean to fire you up. Last I checked you had MANY cymbals that offer the same qualities.

You should at least check out the K Constantinoples if you haven't. If you like them that much I'm sure you have some redundant cymbals that might help you fund it. If they offer nothing that you don't already have you also solve the problem.

Gene,

I got to play some K Cons a few years ago (at least, I think they were K Cons) - I did a percussion clinic at a "day of percussion," and one of the other clinicians was gracious enough to let me use his kit during my clinic. Lovely cymbals, that's for sure - and I felt very much at home playing them, which is my biggest concern when it comes to selecting and using a given instrument.

Okay James. I have nothing else to say. Far be it from me to be the devil's advocate.

Yeah. There was a 22" Const. ride in a store I was in the other day.

They're EXTREMELY TEMPTING but alas I don't have that kind of money floating around right now.

You've got a great cymbal selection Gene.

I'm pretty happy with my cymbal options. For some reason I seem to be going all K Zildjian. Never decided to do that, just seems that they hit the sweet spot for me. I'm always checking out everything but some kind of gravity kicks in.

I still have a very old 20" A Ride, an Istanbul 18" Crash, a Paiste 16" 2002 Crash, 14" New Beat Hi Hats, and a Sabian HH CLassic ride. Everything else is from one of the K lines.

Gene,

Now that you have a couple of weeks under your belt with the new pie do you have anything else to add? Have you tried the Constantinoples together in an "electric" setting yet? (Just curious...) Cool Dude

...as a matter of fact I used them with a classic rock band this week. They sounded amazing.

HOWEVER, this band plays at fairly reasonable volume.

I'd love to hear them.

I added another Paiste Signature to the arsenal. I picked up an 18" fast crash yesterday.

My setup is now...

(left to right)

14" medium hi-hats

17" fast crash

15" fast crash

18" full crash

18" fast crash

20" full ride

16" fast crash
