Hi Lee! As fas as styles go, I try to learn and play all that I can. Swing, jazz, rock, blues, metal, reggae, whatever! Some I do well, some I suck at, but there's always a technique that can be used elsewhere. I was in an original band years ago, that was kind of punky, new wave metal, but I ws able to sneak in some latin dance rhythms! I know it sounds strange, but it worked well. One of my favorite drummers is Richie Hayward from Little Feat, the guy is just insane!!

Love Richie... He has such a great feel to his playing... Sounds like you started out doing the Jazz flavored thing like me. That's what got me doing everything else...

Actually I started listening to Mitch Mitchell, Bill Ward, John Bonham, and Ian Paice. Got into Neil Peart, Don Brewer, etc. I didn't really get back into the music I grew up with until the mid 80's.

weazzor,

Much welcome to the site!!!

Rats, looks like I'm still "senior" drummer around here at 51 (just had a birthday in April).

Good mixed group of ages and countries represented here...lot's of fun! Don't get too serious, though........
