| You should charge him rental fees Katie.
Katie I think I just made a lot of trouble for myself again and I was hoping you could help me. You see I just offered to help a young drummer in Saudi Arabia get some better cymbals. Said I would try to raise some extra cash so he could afford a better set up. I was thinking we could buy it though you because one you'll ship them to him, two you will give some kind of discount, three your a Sabian dealer. You see I met this kid on the Sabian forum and he sounds like a good kid, it's just his dad won't give him enough for a XS20 set up. He's got some money and I was hoping I could put in a little and maybe Mike or someone here might help too. For you it could be a way to get on the Sabian site and not look like your spaming, you know do a good deed for a young drummer and get your name out there.
I do stupid stuff like this all the time, I just like helping young drummers because I had it lucky when I was young and I feel I need to help. It's really a bad time for me, as my girlfriend is 4 months pregnant and I just started working again after being off 3 months with a bad back I know she'll flip when I tell her that I want to help some kid I don't really know. But I want to try.
Mike or any you guys we could send some money to Katie for this kid, I could do maybe $30 or $40, if you could send in 5 or 10 bucks we might be able to do something. I think he needs only like$100.
If I'm a fucking idiot just say so. | | Message posted 680 days ago | IP Logged |

| Thanks Mike it's the Sabian forum and the kid is 13, I call him the Little Drummer Sheik, he seems to know his stuff. I'll go find a link.

| Well, the loud drummer bought the Bonham kit. So at least those two hours of the boss's time were well spent.
Sure, I'd love to try and help out somehow. If you can give me the link to the forum I'll definitely go check it out.
Do you know what Xs20 cymbals he's looking for? Or if he's looking at a set? Cause we have a 7 pc Greenbrier exclusive set on our site right now that would be 466.40 with the coupon we have going (not including shipping of course).
If he's looking to buy them individually I'm sure we could get him all the ones he's looking for at a great price if its done through email/phone/our website. Obviously we have to follow the dealer's rules for what the lowest price is we can advertise, but once we get someone into personal contact with us we can drop that price lower.
The boss has left for the day, but I can check with him tomorrow if he can cut a special deal if I know what specific cymbals he is looking for. Hope to hear from you soon! | | Message posted 680 days ago | IP Logged |

| No a 7 piece set is too big, He only needs hi-hats crash and ride to start with. He has some money but I don't think it's much. I'm thinking a box set, of XS20's.
The link is on my last post.

| Ah...bummer. Cause our set is the same as the Sabian Xs20 Complete Set, which goes for $759 on ebay. I wasn't sure how much money/how many cymbals he was looking for though.
I just checked our big wall o' loose cymbals and found quite a few miscellaneous Xs-20's we have sitting around. If you're interested in these, since they're not in sets, they can be shipped out immediately after payment. We wouldn't have to order anything.
We have both a 14" Medium Thin Crash and an 18" Medium Thin Crash, a pair of 14" Medium Hi-Hats, and many 20" Medium Rides lying around.
It would be $398.64 (before shipping) for the 14" Crash, 14" Hats, and 20" Ride through our site. It would be $442.64 (before shipping) for the 18" Crash, 14" Hats, and 20" Ride through our site.
However, I can cut you a special Drum World deal. ^_~ In other words I asked the manager how low we could go for these to help you and the kid out.
For the 14" Crash, 14" Hats, and 20" Ride I can get you for $255. If you'd rather the 18" Crash, 14" Hats, and 20" Ride it would be $270. Those are of course before shipping costs which we could calculate for you if you want.
Let me know what you're thinking! | | Message posted 680 days ago | IP Logged |

| Just checked with the manager, shipping which includes insurance would cost about $90 to Saudi Arabia. And when we ship internationally if the shipping ends up costing us less than we charged we instantly refund the difference.
Glad you like 'em!
I plan on (once I've posted 50 times) making a thread over on the Classifieds section where people can just post and ask for a price quote on anything they see on our website or ebay. Since we can cut great deals...just can't advertise those prices without violating MAP with our dealers. | | Message posted 680 days ago | IP Logged |

| Haha, yeah, I'm in no rush. I just feel bad that my 'introduction' post has kind of gotten out of control.
I apparently take a lot of introducing. ^_~ | | Message posted 680 days ago | IP Logged |
