| Ok I know there are a ton of variables to get a good sound when gigging but I'm hoping some of you guys can help me. My band plays a ton of outdoor gigs and I can never seem to get a good sound from my drums. We use two powered speakers and two powered subs and a 12 channel board. The first major problem is we dont have enough channels on the board. I've heard that a lot of drummers use a seperate mixer just for that reason, if I go that route is it possible to use a crossover with that mixer to keep the kick drum out of speakers and only coming through the subs? Hope this makes since Im completely lost when it comes to PA stuff, luckily the bandmates take care of most of that but I'd really like to figure out a way to get a better sound, epecially on the outdoor gigs.

| It would depend on the sophistication level of the mixer. If You dedicate one channel of your main mixer to the kick drum You could feed it from the monitor send of your slave mixer then run the rest of Your mix through another Channel. Billy Member since Feb. 15 2008
