Oh, and I just re-read my first post...I wasn't having a dig Rich mate - it seems to have come out bitchier than it was meant

BTW Tamadrummer don't try and play as much and your bands sound will tighten up consideably..  But for one day and I assume all virgins in the studio congrats.  That you have the balls to put it up here makes you quite the man.

I was impressed with the quality of the demo - I have heard some of the efforts around here...and dear me!

Recording is always something I dread...it makes me realise exactly how useless I am!

personally i cant get into the 'worship zone' listening to metal but thats just me.
I thought that life was meant to lived in worship - so if you are a metal band, then you are worshipping playing.
your absolutly right, which is why i said  'personaly'. i cant come into true intimacy with God, to touch Him and be touched by Him while listening to distorted power chords and triplets. im not saying that its not possible its just not possible for me(yet!)

I know where you are coming from. I enjoy finding God in all things...I believe that I was given the ability to play drums to allow other to find enjoyment, what better place to find God than on a natural high through music!

But I also like to be close to God in quiet reflection - all are aspects of the same relationship. To me it is like going out on the town with Sade, and being at home alone with her - same relationship, different aspects!thestub38186.6450347222

the only concern i have is the ability of 'christian' music groups and there audiences (in general, im not talking about your group specifically here Mr Tamadrummer) to separate themselves from the musical performance (artist/consumer interaction) in a non 'church' environment. i think there is a danger when both sides lose the focus of what is supposed to be happening (i.e intamacy) and concerntrate on the physical. when that happens youve lost it.

make sense???

There is the difference between a band who play worship music, and a rock band who are also Christian.

Look at Chevelle - when you listen to them live, they are a rock band...read their lyrics and their faith shines through.

In Church you are trying to worship - on stage you are trying to entertain. You need to be sure that you keep the correct focus in both situations.

Mind you - my chapel would faint if I turned up with a drum kit Very traditional my lot
