It's been a while since i was on here, but check out the 2 songs at

http://www.thrownrock.com/thrownaudio.html

Tell me what you think, and be overly critical, pics of my set can be found in the pics section, or just look at the piture in the top left, and there ya go, also the snare is not mine, it's a DW maple 5.5 by 14 snare, that I borrowed.

hi there, nice looking kit Mr Tamadrummer what are the specs on that baby?

ok you ask for a critic so here goes..

web site is great loads to look at very well designed needs drum section!

the singer is flat....and has a weak voice me no likey but hey.

a guess by the logo and some of the lyric i could make out your a christian band right? which must be kinda hard given your musical style. personally i cant get into the 'worship zone' listening to metal but thats just me.

as for the drums, if it were me id play less but then i dont play that style so ill let the others deal with this one.

i like the sound of the drums recorded though that snare may sound better cranked up a bit and the kick further forward in the mix (remember i am listening to mp3 through crappy com speaker!!!)

lastly a round of appluse putting your stuff up for comment, somthing ive yet to do!!!

I thought that life was meant to lived in worship - so if you are a metal band, then you are worshipping playing. To be honest, I am encouraged by all these Christian metal bands - it shows people that we arn't all worshipping satan, and that the music itself isn't a one way ticket to hell (as my aunt claims it is ). Nice to know you ain't ashamed of your faith - put at the fore, and be proud!!!

Looks to be a Starclassic Performer (so birch shells) in sunset fade...could be wrong on the colour...nice, very nice

I hope to have some of my lots music up soon...we should (if I can get them moving) in the studio over the next few weeks...before I start work with luck!thestub38186.6085300926

Thanks for the input, we only had one day, we actually recorded 5 songs in the one day, so i just did the best I could given that I only had one take for each song, also the heads on the set we're 7 months old at the time of recording, I ordered new heads 2 weeks prior, and they arrived 3 days after we recorded, I don't know what happened there, everything was just rushed, we didn't have much time to mix obviously, but for 600 bucks, i think it came out alright.

We also don't have that singer anymore, we're looking for a better one, and being a harder christian isn't so bad, you'd be surprised the demand for such a band.

You would be correct mr. stub, it's Starclassic performer, but it's Aztec red fade.

Didn't want to do this in the forum..

1st song: Drums sound good but the overall kit mix is off.  The overall soundscape has no depth or width.  And the overall mix is too compressed for my tastes...  The tempo/time changes are not smooth enough for me.

2nd song: Better drum overall drum mix.  And the soundscape still does not have depth or width.  Changes sound better.  But the mix is still to compressed...

These are personal observations...  Not trying to slam you just giving honest opinon.

OK everybody else did it...

I guess you are into Chevelle and Pillar then...both bands gained positions on my playlist through merit - they rock hard for Christ

As I say - it is good to hear bands that are hitting the mainstream and proclaim their faith...all music is worship - not all Christian music has to be for Church!! (Getting a generic dig are some whiners I know...)

I don't "critique" anyone elses playing.  Everyone is good at what they do.  I try to give honest opinion as to overall and individual sound of the instruments.  I always tell people they could and should open up their playing styles unless they have already figured that out.  It all boils down too music is not about impressive individual parts.  That's all I try to tell anyone...  Don't over extend in the studio or live and you'll be GREAT.... On any instrument.................

I wasn't implying critque of playing - rather the mix.

I would love to have someone outside listen and take apart any work my band does. For free preferably

Tamadrummer - did you mix it yourself, or pay for the production?
