Check out http://www.meinl.de/.  Cool percussion when the page loads!

But the reason I started this topic is to find out if ANYONE here uses Meinl cymbals?  Anyone? Anyone at all? No?

I always used to have Meinl when I started drumming at 17 (now 37) but when I sold my kit to fund the rebuild of my motorbike (I know, I know - STOOOPID) I sold the cymbals not knowing how great they were.  Now I can't afford them and have mostly Sabian.  I choose cymbals based solely on the sound they make NOT the brand but I couldn't find any Meinl's at a decent price.

Well a whole 24 hours has gone by and NO-ONE has put a reply in.  I guess I was right and NO-ONE here has a single Meinl cymbal (or an opinion about them!)

So... back to the red hot topic on the "etymology of fingers" it is then....

I have a 12" Meinl Raker Splash, Its my fave cymbal and my bands fave cymbal, its got a great sound.  I am considering changing all my Sabian Crashes to Meinl Raker ones.

I think the splash was £38 from my local drum shop.  If your in UK www.rattleanddrum.com can get you Meinl's at reasonable prices

Most of my cymbals are Meinl (Generation X and Classics). I saving money to change all my cymbals to Meinl. These are my cymbals and kit:

I spent hours today just going through all the cymbals in the drum shop where I was picking my kit up - and the Meinls really, REALLY impressed. Sitting them next to Sabian and Zildjian cymbals of a smilar nature, they Meinl's just did it for me.

And they were half the price! I think I may be getting me a couple. Though nothing will ever make me give up my 1960's Zildjian ride, the best ride I have ever tried...bar none!
