| Mapex Double Bass | Grust

| I was wondering if anyone have ever tried or heard any feedback on the Mapex P380 double bass pedal... It's fairly cheap, and I really need a double pedal but I'm pretty broke right now. I've found it priced around 220$, or 117£. At least in Norway, that's quite reasonable for a brand new pedal. So I was wondering if it's any good? Or if some of you maybe know of other pedals in the same price range that might be better value for my money?
Any help is appreciated... | | Message posted 3007 days ago | IP Logged |

| look in the top left of the screen the top veiw of my kit my mapex pedal, is that wot ur talkin about?
if it is i have this 2 say:
it is quite a good pedal not too bad, but it was squeeking like a motherf*ker untill i oiled it, dont feel very smooth, the stroke on the left slave side is quite poor, like the distance moved by the beater seems to change as the footboard moves down,
i am bing very picky about the pedal as i have played iron cobras since amd they are amazing, unless u are reely desperate for a double pedal and need 1 now it aint worth buying a lower range pedal, wait and save the extra for an iron cobra
i regret not waiting but when i bought the mapex i wasnt sure if i was going to stick with double bass drumming, i did and now i wish i had save up for a kick ass iron cobra so thats my opinion any way lol double_bass38043.7705671296 | | Message posted 3007 days ago | IP Logged |

| Hehe.. thanks guys. Now at least I know what pedal NOT to buy...
I guess I'll do what you suggested, it seems like the right thing to do. I'll save up a while longer and buy a "real" pedal. I've heard a lot of good stuff about the Iron Cobras, so I guess I'll check them out. | | Message posted 3006 days ago | IP Logged |

| | Hehe.. I'm sorry but I'm quite drunk as I write this. Anyway, I just played a gig tonight, on DW drums and with DW5000 double bass pedals. It was supersmooth. I really liked the sound of the drums and the feel of the bass pedal. The kit itself would probably cost more money than I'll make in my entire life, but it was really great as long as it lasted..! | | Message posted 3006 days ago | IP Logged |
