In the 70s Ludwig ruled the world of marching percussion. Ludwig dropped the ball in the 80s losing most all of their market to imports. Now they seem to be making a comeback, after looking at their current offerings they seem to be making the same gear they made in the 70s. The only modern piece is the reso snare for Kevlar heads.

I love seeing that. I hope they can get back some market share.

Since Ludwig has it's own marketing branch now they are doing a good job of getting the name back out in the market place.

Sir Bonham and Rockband have helped a lot.

Premier was a force in marching percussion as well, and that seems to be over.

Premier was one of the companies that took Ludwigs market share in the first place

The big dog in marching drums at this time is still Yamaha.

It seems with the advent of carbon fiber someone would use it in marching gear to lighten the load.
I guess it's still to expensive.

Pearl seems to have a decent share as well now.
