I've been fairly patient as far as getting the kit right. I replaced the heads, added a rims mount to the 12" tom.

I just set up the Leedys for the first time and I took a photo for you guys. I'll try to post it tommorrow.

sounds good mike how many more heads do you have to replace?Devilish too many right... btw are your five kits all set up the same way. like 2 up 2 down? or do you keep them different for a different taste?

Four of my five kits are six piece. Each is different in either sizes or configuration.

1975 Slingerlands - 12", 13", 16", 18", 22"
Two up, two down, the upper toms are stand mounted.

1981 Gretsch - 12", 13", (14" on order,) 16", 22"
Two up, two down. Although there is a mount on the bass, I choose to mount the upper toms on a separate stand.

2006 Gretsch Catalina Birch - 8", 10", 12", 14" 22"
Again I don't use the mount on the drum, I mount the upper toms on stands. I'm watching for a 16" floor tom in Chestnut fade to match this kit. When I eventually get one I'm going to give the 8" tom to Dennis as he has the identical kit minus the 8" tom in the same finish.

2008 DW - 10", 12", 14", 16", 22"
Two up, two down, the upper toms are stand mounted.

1964 Leedy - 12", 16", 20"
One up, one down, the upper tom is stand mounted.

The DWs still have the original factory heads, all of the other kits have heads that have been replaced in the last six months. I intend to replace the batter heads on the DWs sometime this summer.

Here are the pictures. It doesn't look vintage to me.

By the way, I'm currently using my Fibes maple white marine pearl snare with it.

(I figure someone would ask...)

Thanks guys, I really like them.

The finish is dark blue spakle. The pictures do it no justice. It's so clean in person, it looks like it lived in cases for the past 44 years.

Yes, it's a Pork Pie throne with DW pedals and hardware. I think I'm going to throw one more crash on a stand. I'm crrently uusing the 1965 new beat hats, my sweet ride and a 17" medium thin "A" crash.

...Which I expected to be the next question.

It's sort of funny. When you see a picture of my Gretsch "stop-sign badge" kit or my Slingerlands they look great, much like they do on stage. The Leedys and DWs look good in pictures, but in person they both look MUCH better.

The shirts are for a laugh. I have one shirt each for Paiste, Slingerland, Ludwig, and Leedy. I have arm loads of DW, Zildjian, and Gretsch shirts.
