So yesterday I was doing my normal daily browsing of Craigslist musicians ads and I see one looking for a drummer to fill-in July 3 & 4. My band is taking those days off so I send an email and get a reply saying that the guitar player would like to call and talk. He called last evening while I was on the golf course and we chatted and I landed the gig ($100 per night cash) wooohoo!!..

So later in the day O was looking at craigslist and see anuther ad looking for someone to play on Saturday. That ad requested a phone call... I called but I was about 5 minutes too late as they already setup something with another drummer and were going to practice beginnings and endings last night... but if he sucked they would give me a call. But they also have my number to call if they need a fill-in

It is nice when they ask who I play with.. most of the bands have either heard of us or heard us. So I don't have to prove myself.

It is always interesting sitting in with band you have never played with before. So of keeps one on his toes.

I really love doing that sort of stuff. It keeps you on your feet and makes sure you don't get too comfortable playing with the same guys.

Lately, I bet I'm sitting in more often than I'm playing something familiar.

I used to do that a lot years ago. It keeps things really fresh.

We don't stop playing because we grow old.
