In 1971 James Taylor and Carole King toured together in support of their successful albums. They called it the Troubadour tour. Danny Korchmar was on guitar, Leeland Sklar on bass, (one of my all time favorite bass players) and Russ Kunkel on drums.

This is the Troubadour Reunion tour and they had Danny, Lee and Russ along with them.

Wow.

It was a hell of a good show and the final one at the Mellon Arena. I've seen everyone from Rush to Joe Cocker to Van Halen there over the years. I hate to see it torn down, but this concert was a heck of a send-off.

Boy, Russ sounds great on this clip:

Having a band like that backing you, it must feel like power steering for James and Carole. Pleased

Seeing this band was one one of the best examples I've ever seen of a whole band always playing for the song.

It was magic. Great clip by the way James.

I have also always loved Leeland Sklar's playing!

I wish we could clone him.

He seems to make it easier for everyone else in the band.
