| His sticks were the first sticks I chose as well. Gene | | Message posted 713 days ago | IP Logged |

| | I had no choice, my dad gave me his used sticks which were like new, seeing as he played an 18" bass drum with 12" tom and 14" floor three 20" K rides and never hit rim shots. | | Message posted 713 days ago | IP Logged |

| They were nice sticks. I only went away from them because I really preferred wood tips.
He was a REALLY nice player. I often watched the Merv Griffin show just to hear him. Gene | | Message posted 713 days ago | IP Logged |

| I couldn't really see, but I think that's the late Nick Ceroli (another fine drummer worth checking out!) in that clip from Merv's show.
Jake also played with Woody Herman's band:

"I played with Holdsworth, Fripp, and Belew...I wish we drummers could play that differently. Drummers are starting to homogenize into the same guy, which frightens me." - Bill Bruford
